This poetic greeting was written by my friend Grace Quansah (aka ‘Akuba’). Her performance art, writing and dedication has greatly inspired me.
Now Not Tomorrow
Relish the moment, but cherish what has gone,
Embrace any chance at all to put right what is wrong.
Savour various friendships, endeavour to bond with kin,
Overcome rooted bitterness that we may keep within.
Languish passed beloveds, and nourish those left behind,
Unite to mend that rift which leaves us so maligned.
Think forever forward, yet note yesterday’s mistakes
Inner peace will appease however long it takes.
Offer resolution, a New Year is looming nigh
Now, not tomorrow, never let time slip us by!
